Well, Josh and I were excited this morning aws we got up to go to work. We were going to mak an offer on a house. I was supposed to go after work to sign some papers with our realtor, but I never heard from Josh and I started to get worried... apparently I should have been.
Our Realtor contacted the company selling the house nad they said- oops! we forgot to mark that it's under contract- and has been almost since we saw it last Friday apparently. Grrr!
This is not (for those of you who don't know) how I shop for things. I don't want to look forever- I would much rather go in, find what I want and get out. This is not the way you purchase a house. We're still considering this one on Labrador Lane But the stairs worry me and it's a bit of a drive to work.
Well... back to the drawing board. Maybe we should follow Josh's original plan of buying a piece of property and putting up one of the two-story storage sheds from Home Depot until we can build a house?

Spring Break 2
Well, the week is almost over and here I am- having meant to take a bunh of pictures and post a bunch of stuff all week, but I didn't. I also haven't accomplished much.
I have been thinking about next friday- I'm taking off work to drive to Oklahoma for the wekend for my Uncle Craig's wedding. I'm nervous about leaving my little 5th graders with a substitute. They have a tendency to eat subs alive. I know this because my team-mate has been taking off a bit of time recently to schedule some back surgery and she's had a sub a couple times. Some of the subs were slightly... unfit... but they took advantage of the situation immediately. It makes me very nervous.
Oddly I've been having "bad teacher" dreams. For instance- my sweet children had a test and I worried about it for days. I dreamed that I forgot to make copies and that I lost my voice and I could gte them to settle down. This has not happened as of yet- nothing even remotely like it- but I still have these anxiety dreams. I think they're similar to dreaming that you show up to high school naked and have to make a presentation in front of your calculus class. I never took calculus, but I can imagine that's what it's like (as Anne Shirley would say).
Well, Mr Watson and I have decided to spend the day trying to find a house and getting my car checked over before next weekend's little road trip. I'll try to post again soon.

Spring Break

Well, since I am on Spring Break this week and able to (ahem!) tap into the neighbor's internet access, I decided that I would humor Laura and update my Blog.
It's spring- or at least it feels like it. Warm one day and cold the next, flowers on trees, and my favorite- strawberries. That's what I had for breakfast this morning. I'm going to finish them in a minute (it's like 9:00 am- I have slept in very late- for me) and then go crawl into bed and read a book Laura brought me last night. I'll have to post more about it when I finish reading it.
Laura and John Came to Nashville last night. They were on their way to New York for Spring Break. John Described the trip as a "Food and Art" trip. They'll see some art and eat some interesting food... hopefully they'll avoid the kosher pickles that they serve in some deli's instead of bread... blech. John even said he might bring me a black and white cookie... I'm not sure how he'd fly back with one- someone will probably think it's a bomb- but I'm very excited at the prospect anyway.
Speaking of John and Laura- I helped my Mom do a little spring cleaning last weekend and
came home with one of Laura's paintings that I adore- please do not judge it by the picture I took. There's a better one somewhere on my computer but I can't find it- much like the card reader for our better digital camera. I'm not sure why i like this painting so much- it might be the color or the texture of the tree, but really it just feels comfortable to me. We haven't hung it up yet, but then, there's lots I mean to do around this house this week.Other happy things-
Josh and I have been house hunting. We found one we really liked and then found out it was under contract- Boo!!!!!!!! It had a barn, a two car garage and the house was adorable.
Now Josh has found a cabin way out in Ashland city on 9 acres with two springs on the property and a woodburing stove for heat. We could start our commune! It's a bit too far from town for me, but we'll have to see. Josh may have me convinced purely for the fantastic garden tub in the master bathroom.
We looked at a lot of houses on saturday and none of them worked all that well, but our realtor said it might take a while. Well... what else is new in my life?
Wouldn't you like to know?
Saturday, March 10
Oops... Hmmm. Apparently not being able to get onto blogger from work makes me forget to post. I've been very neglectful of my blog for the last two or three monthes.
Many changes...
I'm enjoying my new job. 5th graders are pains, but some of htem are actually quite sweet.
I took my PRAXIS exams last saturday- at least I took three of them. It was a rough day, but that is a story for another time. I think I might have failed one of the tests, but we'll have to wait and see.
Otherwise we're just really busy around here. Lots of work, lots of going to bed early.
A fun note...
My Uncle Craig is getting married at the end of the month and we're trying to figure out how to go. We waited a bit too late to get good priced plane tickets, so we're considering driving. We were hoping to visit some family that weekend, since Josh's sister-in-law, niece and nephew, and my entire extended family live there. This could be a problem, though since I've recently started getting a bit carsick. Hmm... twelve hours in a car with me feeling pukey??? Josh is a brave man.
Ummm. That's all I care to share for now...
Later- but not much later!
